When someone drinks alcohol, alcohol travels to the stomach and intestines. This then enters the blood in different parts of the body. Even when the person sleeps or become unconscious, the concentration of blood alcohol may still continue to increase. When alcohol poisoning is not treated, it can result to several complications such as brain damage, hypoglycemia or low blood sugar and extremely low body temperature or hypothermia.
There is another type of symptoms associated with alcohol. This group of symptoms is what is referred to as alcohol withdrawal symptoms. They develop after the person cease drinking alcohol abruptly.
