Everyone knows someone or at least has known someone who had drug problems. If that person did not have the right aid or did not find a good drug rehab facility, it was surely extremely difficult for him or her to overcome the addiction. In order for an addicted person to get rid of these issues and live a drug or alcohol free life, being ready for change and asking for help are the first things that have to be done.

There are many centers such as the Spiritual River who claim to have a high success rate. However, it is more important to understand how this rate is calculated. While some of these rehab centers only consider no longer using the drugs as a success, others take the intake reduction to measure their success.

While some people believe that is nothing abnormal about an individual getting high with marijuana occasionally in the weekend, other people would say that this person has no self-control and his idea of fun is just an accident waiting to happen.
The long term success rate is the most relevant though.

Most Christian rehab centers have a high success rate due to the fact that they successfully integrate their religious principles in their practice. Once the addicts get a belief system, they also start to get support from other people from the church, as well as go to counseling groups with other individuals that struggle with the same issues.

Nevertheless, this might not work as well with people who does not subscribe to Christianity or are not religious at all. Easter philosophy practices like yoga, karate or tai-chi are also believed to have a great effect to help overcoming drug addictions and assist them to turn their life around.

In conclusion, no matter the recovery is based on the family life, a religious context, or just getting a new sense of purpose, drug recovery will definitely be more sustained when the addicted person gets beyond his or her self-concerns and manages to focus on an ideal.
